P art of a large collection of Mid Century and later art exhibition catalogues, from the collection of a noted art historian.

John Hubbard (1931-2017) was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut (USA).

He studied at Harvard University and at the Art Students League in New York and then with Hans Hofmann in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Hubbard moved to Europe in 1958 and lived in Rome for two years before settling in Dorset in 1961, the year in which he also had the first of nine exhibitions with the New Art Centre in London.

A retrospective of his work was shown at the New Art Centre in 2019.

Rare October 1965 catalogue from his show, at the New Art Centre, Sloane Street London plus an original letter inviting Michael Edwards of The Times newspaper to the opening of the show.
