I-D was founded1980 by Terry Jones ex Vogue editor.It started as a fanzine but over the years it evolved into a mature glossy but it has always kept edgy street style and youth culture central
Many famous photographers – Wolfgang Tillmans, Mario Testino, Terry Richardson, Craig McDean, Nick Knight and Juergen Teller started their careers at I-D.
Every issue of i-D have featured a winking cover model except for one, the Anarchy Issue, as tipped on its side the i-D logo is a winking smiley, while turned right it is a wink.
