Hand Blown Romer Glass Goblet
Part of a vintage glass collection we have in stock.
Fabulous heavy hand blown green tint thick glass Römer goblet with decorated wide stem.
Based on the 17th century designs.
Small bosses, studs or buttons, also in glass, decorate the central area.
For some it had a profound symbolic value due to the reference to the religious world as a Eucharistic chalice.
Römer nowadays are sought after collectibles.
No chips or cracks.
Very large pontil to base (see photos)
I do not know the age of this goblet, but it was obviously made by a craftsman, from the age of the rest of the items in this collection, could be mid 20th Century or earlier.
Bubbles blown in the bowl of the goblet.
