1950s sculptural stoneware pitcher with a Turquoise design by Italian ceramic artist and designer Guido Gambone.

Signed on the bottom with the donkey mark and Gambone signature.Original price label attached.

Guido Gambone is one of the most influential and important ceramic artists from mid Twentieth Century Italy.

He started his career at the Avallone pottery and eventually moved to the Industria Ceramica Salernitana where he became artistic director in 1935.

He set up two potteries of his own La Faenzarella in Vietri his home town and then La Tirrena in Florence.

His Mid Century work is most sought after as it fuses painting, primitivism, tradition, classicism and modern artistic movements.

This pitcher is 20cm tall x 19cm across the body and handle.

Arrow design in Turquoise and Grey.

No chips or cracks. Just great vintage condition – wear consistent with age and use.
