Description

Part of a collection of hand painted earthenware brooches designed in Whitby, North Yorkshire by ceramicist Numi Solomons.

Pareidolia is the perception of apparently significant patterns or recognizable images, especially faces, in random or accidental arrangements of shapes and lines:

Each brooch is unique in shape and design – the patterns are influenced by the shape which is hand cut from a slab of clay. The glaze is mixed so will never be exactly the same.

It is up to the wearer to decide which animal each brooch looks like.

Small works of wearable art!
