This is a fine mid-century Scottish stoneware jug.

It was made by Buchan Pottery, Portobello (just outside of Edinburgh), and dates to the early 1960s.

The old pottery kilns still standing as a point of local interest and history. An interesting display on the history of Buchan Pottery is on display in the Museum of Edinburgh on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh.
