Kathie Winkle joined James Broadhurst & Sons Ltd., Portland Pottery, Fenton around 1950, initially as a paintress, but by 1958 she was producing her own designs. She soon became responsible for all Broadhurst’s pattern designs from then until the mid 1970s. This design "Wheatrose" was produced in the 1960s, and is a good example of her early work The trio has been used and there is some crazing to the glaze, but it has no chips and cracks. It would make an interesting addition to a Kathie Winkle collection.
